Get well soon!

So it's rehab time all over again for Richie...I'm so so sad, he seems to never be able to get a grip. Now it's beginning to scare me. Anyhow it's great that he grans the bull by its horns at the right moment and doesn't allow the monster to grow too big, so kudos for that.

This news popped in my Google alert so here it is (from http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz)

Bon Jovi star Richie Sambora has checked into rehab for 'exhaustion' and to 'regain his sobriety', it has been reported.
The 51-year-old guitarist, who has just finished a hugely popular tour with Bon Jovi, is said to be determined to get his life back on track and thinks a stay in a rehabilitation facility is the way forward.
A source told gossip website RadarOnline.com: 'Richie recently has been drinking too much, and wants to get his life together.'
The rest of the band are said to be very supportive of the musician's decision to seek help.
This is not the first time Sambora has checked himself into rehab.
In 2007, following a traumatic year which saw him split from then-girlfriend Denise Richards in the same month that his father died of cancer, Sambora spent a month in Utah's Cirque Lodge facility.
After leaving rehab, Sambora said at the time: 'I was just drinking too much and I needed to get my life together.
'I’m still in therapy and stuff like that, but it’s good. I’m great. I feel fine.'
In 2008, Sambora was arrested for driving under the influence with his girlfriend and daughter Ava in the car. He pled no contest and was sentenced to three years probation and given a fine of $350.
And now Sambora is said to have decided the best step for him at this point in his life is to return to a facility for treatment.
A close friend of the guitarist told Radaronline.com: 'Richie has had a busy year. I think this was a culmination of all the things that overloaded his life and finally he realized he needed to take care of himself.'
As yet it is unclear how Sambora's decision will affect Bon Jovi's remaining American tour dates this month, and their European dates in June.

Get well dahlin'! we're all rooting for ya.

Bon Jovi Mood of the week: If that's what it takes

That's what I'll do I guess...Having my front teeth veneers donde this week ("not as white as JBJ's, pleasse" - that was something I never expected to say LOL), 5 shots of anesthesia a week for God knows how long, hope it's totally worth it.

And I always thought playing keyboars would make me look like a dork...

Goosebumps

This is so arrogant and sweet at the same time...and in the midsts of one of my favourite songs? awwww

Bon Jovi Mood of the week: It's my life

Why does everybody have to have an opinion on the decisions you take for your own life when you're a grown up person and most of all because it's YOU who have to deal with the consequences? My Laaawwwddd people just back off and deal with your own lives 'stead 'a pickin' at others'!

This is just wrong

Some people in the fashion business are seriously disturbed, what was that stylist thinking?! (well, probably "what would he look like if his hair was...") but then seeing the result, shouldn't someone have prevented this photo from being taken? Sweet Jesus, this is definitely nightmare material for tonight!

Ode to Tico

How cool is this?

As a fan who is also an architect, I tend to keep track on the development of the Soul Foundation, so I found this.
I totally agree with "A beautifully designed home changes your life", and I do believe they are very nice and comfortable, for having been made with donated furniture they look pretty good. I'm convinced that if you live someplace nice and clean and comfortable your whole frame of minds changes too, so I'm happy they pay attention to this aspect, not just throw stuff in there. That's the "Soul" part I guess and hopefully more and more massive housing projects would pay attention to this. It also makes people feel like "home" and not just like living in a "house", what makes them care more about what they have.
I don't see the "design" part of it though, do you? I mean, it's nicely "arranged" and "decorated" but "designed" I don't know...

...The HELP Genesis JBJ Soul Homes, a $10.4 million project that was the result of a public-private partnership between Bon Jovi’s JBJ Soul Foundation and the charitable housing developer HELP USA, opened Tuesday with HELP USA Chairman Maria Cuomo Cole, her famed husband designer Kenneth Cole, Newark Mayor Cory Booker and other officials in attendance.
...This 51 unit apartment building provides community computer labs, art gallery, graphics facility and an environmentally-friendy "green" roof to its residents many of whom will have some special need.
But for a few people in the crowd, the focus was on the details of the lobby itself — the textured terra-cotta wallpaper, the coordinating brown moldings, the elegant framed artwork, the gleaming finish on the carved faux fireplace just inside the main entrance.

The 51-unit development, for which Bon Jovi put up $1 million and called in support from others in music, politics and fashion also attracted the attention of Elle Décor, which in its March issue, will feature the building’s model unit, which it brought in designer Elaine Griffin to decorate with retailer-donated furnishings.
"It looks like a home," said a woman named Dina who stood in a hallway of the building after the grand-opening fanfare had died down.
"It’s gorgeous," Dina said of the apartment building. "I can’t believe it’s true that I’m going to be living here. It’s been so long since I had my own place to live." She is pleased with the modern style of the apartments, which are certified "green" project with Energy Star appliances and other eco-friendly features. The building also has an art studio and community computer lab among its features.
"Just walking into this place feels so nice," Dina said.
Most residents of this slick-looking building with a stone-like facade were selected by lottery.
The Elle Decor model unit at Jon Bon Jovi's new Soul Homes in Newark was decorated with furnishings donated by HomeGoods and others.
To give residents an idea of decorating possibilities for the one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments at JBJ Soul Homes, Elle Décor brought in Griffin, who decked out the two-bedroom model unit.
"A beautifully designed home changes your life," said Griffin, who was on hand for the opening celebration. She pointed out homey decorative touches such as bookends, vases, wall hangings and area rugs she had found at HomeGoods.
"When you have a home that is thoughtfully and lovingly designed — that is warm and comfortable and inviting — it’s your refuge from the outside world," she said. "It welcomes you home and loves you back every time you walk through the door."
She hopes its efforts will help give "the gift of good design to people who arguably need it most: those who are less fortunate, are homeless, or are too consumed with navigating the struggles of daily life to spend time beautifying their homes."

New Theory: Jon is Dorian Gray

This pics were posted by extra and were taken LAST NIGHT after Jon and Dot and Tom and Katie had dinner.

Is he looking gorgeous or what?! So polished and simple and cool...and ever the gentleman...*swoon*.
I wonder what his aging painting looks like he he.

And Tom must have had one made for him too! He's never been a favourite of mine but damn do these people age gracefully!

The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation announced today that we will be funding a Camden, New Jersey emergency drop-in shelter, Joseph’s House, so that they can continue operating throughout the month of April. The funding for this was made possible by the overwhelming support and donations we received in honor of our Board Chairman’s, Jon Bon Jovi, birthday. Donations were received online, through our page on Causes, and also sent in by mail.
Joseph’s House, operated by Saint Joseph’s Carpenter Society, was originally scheduled to operate through March 31, 2011. Due Camden’s overwhelming need for an overnight shelter, Joseph’s House wanted to remain open for one more month as the cold weather continued to hit the area. More than just providing a warm place to sleep, staying open an additional month will enable staff to continue to connect clients to the services they need to further stabilize their lives. It will also help Joseph’s House to continue their mission, which is to collaborate with individuals and organizations in providing opportunities for Camden’s growing homeless population to be safe, supported, and empowered to permanently improve their situations and circumstances.

Maybe they need an architect? I can pour coffee too!! :p

David + Architecture??!!

Bon Jovi Mood of the week: Superman Tonight

Awwww I just came back from a retreat and I sang this song to my Lama last night as an offering. He really is my Superman, he makes everything sooooo much better. I wish the guys could see his smile and hear his applause.

How to incorporate Bon Jovi into your daily life: WORKING OUT

OK, I'm sure most of you, as myself, have found different ways to incorporate Bon Jovi into your daily lives besides as just music playing in the background. Among other things (we can get to that in a later post), I have put my fave 4 guys to work by appointing them my personal trainers.

I excercise on a daily basis. Preferably I would like to run, but my knee injury has prevented me from doing that for a while so I turned to spinning and installed a bike in my bedroom so I could spin while watching TV. That wasn't enought, though, I needed something more.

Since I used to spin to music at the local gym before I got my ergonomic bike, I decided to turn to music so I just played my "Play all" playlist in shuffle mode and went with it, but quite couldn't get a real boost from it.

One day I thought about combining watching TV AND listening to music (jeez, talk about slow thinkin'!) so I played the Live at Wembley Bon Jovi DVD and bam! I was spinning like crrrrazy! I even increased my work-out time from 1 hour to 2! Now I pretty much watch every Bon Jovi live show and music video I can lay my hands on, I get soooooo energized I end up almost drunk on music and endorphines.

Spinning allows you to go at different rythms and use different resistances (when you are jogging it's difficult to run faster or at a different pace depending on the song, cause it messes with your breathing and rythm, at least that happens to me: if I get too high on a song I can be out of breath really fast and my endurance is reduced). Nonetheless, of course some songs are more suitable than others, and I have created my own ideal list of  Bon Jovi songs for the differents stages of the work-out. These are the songs I get more energy from in each stage, though I almost never follow this layout or playlist, I just let my personal trainers decide :p

Warm-up - Little resistance but high speed
- Last man standing
- Have a nice day (here you can add a little more resistance and move your arms as well). This one also works for the standing, standard resistance stage.
I don't usually need more than one or two songs to warm up (I get excited right away :D) But for the sake of it any song works OK for this stage
Sitting, speed stage
- The Radio saved my last tonight (I usually do some upper body work here as well)
- Burning for love
- Bounce
- Good guys don't always wear white
Sitting, high resistance
- Never say goodbye
- What do you got?
- Don't leave me tonight
Standing, standard to medium resistance
- Livin' on a prayer
- These Days
- In these arms
- Born to be my baby
- Bad medicine
This is what takes up most of my workout time, so usually and depending on my energy level I may do more songs, like One wild night, Someday I'll be Saturday night, In&Out of love, Prostitute
Standing, high resistance
- Dry County
- Blaze of glory
- Always
- This Ain't a Love song
- Alive
Cool down and stretch
- Wanted dead or alive
- Superman tonight (acoustic version)
- Lie to me
- Maybe Someday
- Most of Richie's songs: In it for love, You're not alone, Harlem rain, Made in America, etc...

Ideally, one wouldn't be singin' while excercising, but I just can't help it!

Bon Jovi Mood of the week: Welcome to wherever you are

Not my favourite song, but fits the mood of this week. Sometimes you ask yourself, how did I get here? Life is a box full of surprises but some are more strange than others. So, still 2 months to go before I move to China for an indefinite period of time (I never saw THAT one comin') and pretty much nothing to do but paperwork and other travel arrangements. Still have to be patient about things going on and have no expectations at all, and "believe that right here right now is exactly where I'm supposed to be" and "every new beginning is some beginning's end". Uff, freefalling into the unknown is a tough one, wish me luck! I'm gonna need it...and A LOT of Bon Jovi too :D
